Anthem is just about to hit its full launch, and many players are interested to know how long it’ll take to beat the story for the game. BioWare are known best for their involved and lengthy stories, but Anthem is largely a multiplayer game. To help you plan ahead or decide if you want to buy it, this guide will teach you how long it takes to beat Anthem’s story.
How Long is Anthem’s Story?
Anthem has a total of 21 main story missions, but there are also plenty of side quests you can take on while completing them. It took us roughly 10 hours to beat the 21 main missions, but other have reported up to 15 hours, so expect it to last in the 10-15 hour ballpark. It’s certainly possible to beat the game faster, especially if you skip through the cutscenes. However, we wouldn’t recommend rushing, as Anthem’s story is an enjoyable affair and one of the game’s best parts.

The battle against Royce is the final boss battle and works much like you are fighting yourself. Royce has the same abilities, strategies, strengths and weaknesses. You will have to destroy Royce and all of his functions, meaning you will have to take him down to 0 HP 4 times.
The strategy here is to take advantage of the buffs and bonuses you have when attacking. If you are using Load, be sure to put out packets before launching your assault so that the attacks can chain with a packet for more explosive damage.
Also, when Crash is available and you are in range, use Crash first to begin a combo, allowing you to do additional damage on all follow-up attacks for the duration of that chain.
Defensively, you can can cloak to hide from attacks while also using the element of surprise as a buff to the start of your combo. You also will want to try not to turn your back to Royce as he will received a backstab bonus.
Once you have defeated Royce, you will return to the world and have the ability to bring it back to the way it once was. You will be able to rebuild a bridge that will actually lead back to the location in which you found the transistor.
